Was dead set on enclosed transport until I saw the price difference
I was 100% sure I needed enclosed shipping for my 2019 Mustang from Atlanta to Denver. Got a quote from Montway that was $1,850 for enclosed and my buddy laughed, said just do open. I went with open for $1,200 and the car arrived with zero damage, not even a rock chip. Has anyone else saved big by going open and regretted it or am I just lucky?

The thing is, $1,200 for open shipping from Atlanta to Denver is actually pretty steep. You probably could have found it for closer to $800 or $900 if you shopped around more. Not trying to rain on your parade, but Montway isn't exactly known for being the cheapest option out there.

Oh wow, I actually just read something about this the other day. There was this whole breakdown on a car shipping forum where someone compared quotes from like 5 different brokers and Montway was consistently one of the higher ones for open transport. The person ended up going with a smaller broker and paid almost exactly $850 for a similar distance, which is wild. I guess those big name companies charge more because they're paying for all that advertising and customer service overhead. Makes you wonder if the extra cost is actually worth it or just paying for the brand name.
