Broker quote from Ohio made me question my whole process

I was lining up a move from Columbus to Phoenix for a 2018 F-150, and this broker in Ohio told me to stop shopping on price alone. He said he's seen 3 customers this month alone get burned by bait-and-switch quotes that were $400-600 under the going rate. That made me dig into the fine print, and sure enough, those cheap numbers had no fuel surcharge or insurance listed. Has anyone else gotten a quote that fell apart after you asked for a breakdown?
