Watched a car hauler load 9 cars in Cincinnati and finally get why my quote was $1,150
Stopped at a truck stop outside Cincinnati last week and just stood there watching a guy load a car hauler for like 15 minutes. He had 9 cars stacked on that thing, winching each one up with maybe an inch of clearance, and it hit me why brokers quote so many different prices. Anybody else ever watch one of these loads happen in person and walk away feeling better about what they paid?

Watching them load cars does not really tell you much about what your own quote should be though. Nine cars on one truck is normal, that is just how they make money, and the price you pay depends way more on your route and how many other people are shipping the same way that week. So I get why it feels like you got a deal, but a full truck in Ohio does not mean the guy hauling your car across the country is charging you the same rate.
