Quote from a dispatcher in Tulsa made me recheck my carrier pick, and it saved me $340
I was booking a move for my Civic from Tulsa to Phoenix and had three quotes sitting in my inbox, all within $60 of each other. The dispatcher at the cheapest one said something odd when I asked about pickup timing, she told me the truck would 'swing by when it's in the area' with no date attached. I called the other two back and both gave me a real 3 day window in writing, so I paid $340 more than the lowball quote. Two days before my move the cheap broker called to say pickup was pushed 2 weeks because their truck never got routed through Oklahoma. The carrier I picked showed up on the exact day, loaded the car, and it hit Phoenix in 5 days with no damage. Has anyone else had a broker quote that fell apart once you asked for a firm pickup date?
