How I cut my car shipping quotes from 11 calls to 2 by posting a fake Craigslist ad in Denver
I got so sick of brokers blowing up my phone for 3 days straight that I tried something dumb, I posted a fake "car for sale" ad in Denver with my real number and let the transport guys come to me. Figured out real fast which brokers were local and which ones were just call centers reading a script, and I ended up booking with a guy out of Aurora for $150 less than the cheapest quote I got the normal way. The ad got flagged in like 6 hours so it's not a long term plan, but has anyone else tried flipping the script like this to filter out the junk callers?
