I finally stopped using those cheap seat covers after my upholstery guy in Mesa set me straight
For about 2 years I threw those $30 universal seat covers on everything I drove and thought I was protecting the seats. Then last March my mechanic buddy in Mesa pulled one off my truck and showed me the mess. Grit had worked under the fabric and rubbed a bald spot into the driver bolster. He said the covers trap dirt and sand and grind it in every time you slide in. I dropped $180 on a real fitted set with a backing that hugs the seat and no loose edges. Six months in and the seats look brand new when I peel them back to check. Now I just vacuum under them once a month and that's it. Curious if anyone runs the leather conditioner too or is that overkill with a good cover on?
