Can we talk about full wax jobs vs. spray sealant for winter salt?
I moved to Syracuse 4 years ago and my first winter I did the whole paste wax ritual every fall. Took me almost 4 hours in the driveway, and by February the rocker panels were still coated in salt spray. Last fall I switched to a $16 spray-on sealant and a touchless wash membership, and honestly the paint looks the same under the road grime. My uncle swears paste wax is the only thing that actually bonds and the sprays wash off in 2 weeks of slush. So which is it, am I cutting corners or is the old way just busy work? Would love to hear from anyone who deals with real road salt every year.
