Why does nobody mention how long a simple brake light fix can drag on

I spent three hours last Tuesday trying to replace a brake light switch on my 2010 Civic, thinking it would be a 20 minute job. Turned out the plastic clip holding the old one snapped off inside the bracket, and I had to dig it out with a pick. Has anyone else had a quick repair turn into half a day because of one dumb plastic part?

Jumped into a brake job on my old Subaru and found out the bleeder valve was basically fused to the caliper with rust. Spent a whole afternoon with PB Blaster and a torch before it finally gave way. Three hours for a plastic clip sounds about right, honestly.

Are you sure that plastic clip was really that hard to get at, or maybe it was more of a "tools weren't in reach" kind of morning? I mean, I've definitely had days where a simple screw turns into a saga, but three hours for a clip sounds like a lot of extra time spent. Sometimes you just need to walk away for a coffee and come back with fresh eyes, you know? Was it a pain to reach or did you just get unlucky with a stuck bolt on the clip itself?
