Three years of brake jobs before I caught my torque pattern mistake
I've been swapping rotors and calipers since 2021, always tightening lug nuts in a star pattern and calling it good... then a customer's wheel started wobbling at 60 mph on I-80 last month. Turns out I was torquing the caliper bracket bolts to spec but not in the right order, so the bracket was warping slightly under heat. Anyone else had a basic step get past them for that long, and what finally tipped you off?

Why do we always learn the dumb stuff after years of doing it right? Yeah, did that with rotor bolts last spring, same wobbly mess.
