Spent $400 on a fancy torque wrench and I'm still not sure it was worth it

I picked up a digital torque wrench for $400 from the Snap-on truck about 6 months ago. It's got all the bells and whistles beeps and lights and memory for settings. But my old beam style one that cost $40 still got the job done on my last engine rebuild. I'm wondering if the extra precision really matters when you're torquing head bolts on a daily driver or if it's just a waste of cash. Has anyone else dropped money on a high end tool and regretted it or felt like it saved them from a come back?

Well I read somewhere that those digital torque wrenches need calibration way more often than the old beam types, so that $400 might come with hidden costs down the road. For something like head bolts on a daily driver, I'd say the beam style is plenty good enough unless you're building race engines. Seems like you got a nice tool but probably overpaid for peace of mind.
