PSA: torque-to-yield head bolts stretch past the point of reuse, learned that the hard way on a 2011 Silverado
Tried reusing a set on a 5.3 build last month to save $60 and two of them snapped during the final 90 degree turn, and the machinist in Des Moines who looked at the block said they can stretch up to 0.008 inches past spec, so what are you guys doing to check yours before a rebuild?
