My old boss in Phoenix swore by using a dab of anti-seize on spark plug threads, but after a few years I found it can actually cause over-torquing and cracked porcelain.

He insisted it was the 'right way' for 30 years, but I learned the hard way on a 2018 Ford F-150 that the factory coating is usually enough, so what's your take on using anti-seize for plugs?

Yeah, the "right way for 30 years" thing hits home. I was the same until I read a tech bulletin about it changing the friction and torque specs. Ruined a plug on my Civic by following the old advice. Now I just clean the threads and hand-tighten, the factory stuff really does its job.

Exactly. I learned that the hard way too.
