Lucas Oil for power steering: miracle or snake oil?

I was super skeptical about those Lucas Oil fix products for years. Thought it was just a band-aid that would gum up my system. But my buddy swears by it for the power steering pump on his old F-150, says it saved him $300. Now I'm wondering if it's actually legit or if I should stick to just swapping parts. Anyone have good or bad experiences with it long term?

That 'band-aid that would gum up my system' is exactly what I thought too man. I put some in my old Silverado's pump that was whining like crazy and it quieted right down, still going strong two years later. I wouldn't use it on a system that's already sludged up, but for a noisey pump with clean fluid it bought me plenty of time.
