I swore vacuum bleeding brakes was a waste of time, then a stuck caliper on a 2013 Silverado ate my Saturday
I've always gravity bled brakes and never had a soft pedal, so when my buddy's truck came in with a spongy pedal after a caliper swap I figured it was just air from the new part and cracked the bleeder for a few minutes. Three rounds of that got me nowhere, so I finally dug out the vacuum bleeder I'd been ignoring for two years and it pulled a fat bubble out of the ABS unit that gravity never would have moved. Took me 4 hours total when it should have been 45 minutes, and the pedal came back rock hard on the first try with the vacuum tool. Now I'm wondering how many other jobs I've been doing the hard way out of habit. Any of you still team gravity, or did something push you to switch too?
