Finally got that stubborn power steering leak on my buddy's old Ford van to stop for good

It was dripping a puddle the size of a dinner plate every time it sat overnight. I replaced the pressure hose twice over the last year, but the leak kept coming back from the rack's input shaft. I finally bit the bullet and put in a whole remanufactured rack from a local parts house last weekend, and it's been bone dry for five days straight. Has anyone else had a leak that just would not quit until you swapped the whole rack?

Been there, those leaks can drive you nuts. Glad the new rack finally fixed it.

Yeah, the "drive you nuts" part is so real. I ended up putting a little silicone grease on the o-rings during my last rack change, and that made a huge difference. It's a cheap trick that saves a ton of hassle later.
