Debate: Did that moisture curing tip actually help your customer's engine bay or was it a waste?
I tried spraying down a customer's 2012 Ford F-150 engine bay with a simple water mist trick before a deep clean last week. The idea was to keep the dirt from drying on and caking up the injectors, but the alternator ended up acting wonky for two days after. Has anyone else seen mixed results with moisture before a degrease, or am I just unlucky with these trucks?

Moisture and alternators don't mix. That mist trick is risky on Fords with that low mounted alternator. Pretty sure the water just seeped into the bearings.

Yeah @rubybarnes is right, that "moisture and alternators don't mix" bit is dead on for these Fords. I've had the same issue on a couple 2011-2014 F-150s where the alternator sits low and catches all the drips no matter how careful you are. Better off just using a dry degreaser and a stiff brush for those trucks.
