A customer's throwaway comment made me rethink my whole torque routine

Guy rolls in with a Subaru, says his last shop "tightened things until they felt right" and that stuck with me. I've been using a torque wrench since 2009 but after that I started checking my wrist feel against the wrench on every 100 ft-lb job. Has anyone else had a customer accidentally teach them something, or is it just me?

Told a customer his lug nuts felt "loose" once, and he was right. Now I double check everything.
