Went to a classic car show in Pigeon Forge and saw a '68 Mustang with a paint match that looked perfect under the sun but was way off in the shade.
The owner said they used a modern camera system for the formula. Anyone else run into this with metallic finishes?

Ever see that happen with a single stage paint job? My buddy had his old truck resprayed a metallic blue that looked amazing in his garage, but once he pulled it out on a cloudy day it looked like two different trucks. The painter swore by his digital scanner too, said it was a fluke with how the flakes laid down.

Scanners can only do so much. Did he spray test panels first? Gotta see that color in sun, shade, everything before you commit.
