Shoutout to the guy who fixed my dent with a hairdryer

Had a nasty crease on my Ford F-150 rear quarter panel. Body shop quoted me $1200. Guy at the gas station said to heat it up with a hairdryer and push from behind. Did it in 10 minutes. Anyone else ever get a weird tip that actually worked way better than expected?

Guy at the gas station said to heat it up with a hairdryer" - that's wild, but it makes sense if you think about it. Heat expands metal and makes it more flexible, same reason you can pop a dent in a plastic bumper with boiling water. I've noticed most expensive "fixes" are just people not knowing the simple hack. Like how you can remove a broken lightbulb with a potato, or unstick a zipper with a pencil. The real skill is knowing when the dumb trick actually works versus when you need the pros.

Ha! It's wild how many expensive problems have cheap fixes if you just stop and think for a second.
