My neck gets so tight from welding all day, what helps?
I've been doing auto body work for a while, and welding jobs always leave my neck feeling locked up. I mean, you're hunched over for hours trying to get those seams right, and it just builds up. Last month, I had to stop early because I couldn't look side to side without wincing, which messed up my schedule. Maybe it's just me, but I see other guys rubbing their necks in the shop too. I tried using a heating pad at home, but it only gives temporary relief. Does anyone have stretches or better ways to set up their workspace to avoid this? I'd really appreciate some practical tips from folks who've dealt with it.

Welding posture needs more attention in shops.

Question if your neck is really that bad or if you're just noticing the normal aches from a tough job. Welding all day is hard on the body, but so is any repetitive work. Try some basic stretches every hour, like slowly turning your head side to side. Maybe adjust your stool or helmet so you're not craning as much. It could be just part of the gig, but if it stops you from working, that's a real problem.
