I finally listened to that old timer about using a stud welder on aluminum

This guy at the shop in Phoenix told me to buy a stud welder for aluminum panels like 6 months ago. I thought he was just trying to sell me on some expensive tool so I ignored him and kept using glue on repairs. Well last week I had a Chevy Silverado door that bubbled up after I pulled it and I finally caved and got the stud welder from a Matco dealer. The pull was way cleaner and no distortion at all - has anyone else had this happen where you kick yourself for not trying something sooner?

Had the same wakeup call with a Ford door, never touched glue again.
