Had to choose between a used Snap-On and a new Harbor Freight welder yesterday

I was fixing a quarter panel on a 2010 Civic in my driveway and my old 110v just wasn't cutting it. Went with the $400 used Snap-On even though it's got some burn marks, because the HF one felt flimsy when I tested it. Anyone else take a gamble on used pro gear over new budget stuff?

That burn mark just means it's been properly broken in.

Used to be on that "new is better" train hard, but after borrowing my buddy's beat-up Miller for a weekend I totally get it now. That Snap-On was probably a solid call honestly.
