Had a chat with a paint rep that made me rethink my clear coat routine

He told me I'm laying it on too thick and that's why I've been fighting orange peel on dark colors... told me to cut my flow by 15% and bump the air pressure up by 5 psi. Has anyone else gotten advice from a rep that actually changed how they spray?

That reminds me, my buddy swears by the opposite approach for single stage urethanes and gets perfect results. Guess it really depends on what you're shooting.

Man that's basically the same advice I got from a Sherwin guy two years ago and it totally fixed my tiger striping issues on metallics. A little air and a lighter hand makes a huge difference.
