PSA: I found a plumber in Atlanta who actually shows up when he says, and here's how I got him
Had a pipe under my kitchen sink start leaking on a Saturday morning about 3 weeks ago. I called 5 different places off Google and every single one either didn't answer or said they could come out Tuesday. I was about to just watch a YouTube video and try it myself when my neighbor saw me carrying buckets out to the curb and said to try the guy who runs a one man shop off Moreland Ave. Here's the trick though: he doesn't have a website or anything, just a phone number on a hand written sign at the hardware store on Ponce. I called at 8am Monday and he was at my place by 10. Charged me $140 total for the part and the labor. He also tightened a shutoff valve that had been dripping for months and didn't charge extra. I've used two of the bigger Atlanta plumbing companies before and paid close to $400 for less work. So my tip is to ask around at local hardware stores instead of just trusting the first page of Google. Has anyone else had luck finding service folks this way, or is it just me?
