Lost $340 to a "same day" dryer vent cleaning that never happened
Booked a dryer vent cleaning through one of those coupon sites back in March because my vent was taking forever to dry a load. Guy shows up 2 days late, pokes around for 10 minutes, says my vent is "way worse than normal" and quotes me $340 for a full tear out and rebuild. Paid half up front, he said he would be back Saturday with a helper. Never saw him again and the number he gave me now goes to a mattress store. Turns out my regular HVAC guy does vents for $95 flat and finished it in an hour. Lesson is I got greedy chasing a deal instead of asking around. Anybody got a vent guy in the Decatur area they actually trust?
