Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to get a termite bond set up in Atlanta?

I bought this place back in March and figured I'd just call up a pest control place and have them out in a week or two. Five phone calls, three inspections, and two months later I finally got a contract signed. First guy wanted $800 just to look at the property. Second company took three weeks to send someone out. Third outfit kept sending me to voicemail. Has anyone else dealt with this mess just trying to get basic termite protection around here?

Eight hundred dollars just to look at the property? That's outrageous. I've bought and sold three houses in the metro area over the years, and I've never heard of a fee like that just for an inspection. It sounds like they were trying to scare you off or size you up to see what they could charge. I had a similar runaround back in 2019 when I tried to get a bond on a rental property in Decatur. Took me six weeks and two companies that never showed up for the appointment. I finally got it sorted, but it felt like pulling teeth the whole way.

Wow, I don't know, eight hundred bucks sounds steep but I'm not sure it's that crazy. Maybe they're just covering their time if they're busy.
