That week we found termites behind the drywall in our Decatur bungalow

We bought our place 2 years ago and thought we were in the clear after the inspection. Last month during a kitchen reno we pulled off some drywall and found mud tubes running up the studs. Pest control quoted us $1800 for treatment and repairs. Has anyone else dealt with termites in an older Atlanta home and have a company they actually trust?

Used to think those big box pest control companies were the way to go, but that changed real quick after my own termite surprise. Had a buddy recommend a local guy named Mark over at Termite Tech Atlanta and he came out, gave us a straight up $1400 quote for treatment and patching the drywall. He even pointed out a spot the inspector missed near the crawlspace vent. Made the mistake of trusting a national chain first time around and they wanted double for basically the same work.

Smart move going local. Those big companies charge crazy overhead for the same work a good independent guy does for way less. Always ask around for a referral, that's the real secret.
