Old lady next door told me my azaleas were planted too deep
She came over with a trowel last Saturday and dug around the base to show me the root flare was buried under 3 inches of dirt. Has anyone else gotten unsolicited gardening advice that actually turned out to be right?

she dug around the base to show me the root flare was buried" - okay but did she actually show you what a proper root flare looks like or just point and say "too deep"? I've had people tell me my plants are wrong but never actually explain what they're supposed to look like. If she took the time to dig and demonstrate, that's way more helpful than just complaining.
