My rain barrel project went sideways after one good storm
I was dead set against hiring a plumber for anything, but after that 3 inch downpour last Tuesday, my DIY rain barrel setup flooded the side of my house near the foundation. The water came gushing out of a loose downspout connector and pooled right against the basement wall. I ended up calling Steve at Allgood Plumbing in Decatur, and he showed me how a simple $15 brass diverter would have fixed it. Has anyone else had a simple project turn into a mess like that?

Did you end up adding the brass diverter? That simple fix saved my setup too.

That brass diverter is honestly a lifesaver. I added one after my second flood and haven't had a single problem since, plus the water pressure stayed way better than I expected lol.
