Just realized paying a guy $400 to clear my gutters twice a year beat the $600 extension ladder I bought
I bought a 28 foot Werner ladder two summers ago because I figured I'd save money doing my own gutter cleaning on my ranch house in Marietta. That thing cost me $600 and it's terrifying every time I get up past the second story, plus I nearly went off it last fall when a pile of wet leaves spun out from under my feet. The real kicker is my neighbor Dale pays a guy $400 a year, twice, and the dude shows up with a leaf blower attachment and does my whole roofline in 25 minutes. I finally called the same guy in March after my ladder sat in the garage for two winters taking up half the wall. He did a better job than I ever did, got the downspouts flowing, and even pointed out a shingle that had lifted near the chimney. My $600 ladder is now on Facebook Marketplace for $300 and nobody wants it. Anyone else holding onto a tool just to prove they can DIY it themselves?
