The comment about my star colors made me redo a whole gallery wall

Someone in the print lab in Austin said my nebula shots looked like they were drenched in candy syrup, and at first I was annoyed, but then I pulled up the histogram and yeah, they were right. I toned down the saturation by about 40% and boosted the contrast in the dust lanes instead, and the details in the core of Orion finally showed up like they were always hiding there. Anyone else get feedback that forced you to see your own photos differently, and did you keep the change or go back to your old style?
