That before and after shot of the Pillars of Creation blew my mind
I was scrolling through the JWST images versus the old Hubble ones from 1995 and the difference is just wild. The infrared view shows all these baby stars forming that were totally hidden behind the dust before. Has anyone else spent way too long comparing the two versions side by side?

The infrared view makes it look like an entirely different universe.

Take it easy man, it's just a different filter on light we can't normally see. Yeah it's cool seeing all that gas and dust lit up, but calling it a whole different universe is a stretch. It's the same old nebula, just rendered in a way our eyes aren't built for. I get why people are impressed, but let's not act like this is some groundbreaking discovery of a new cosmos. It's basically the same photo you've seen a hundred times, just with the color saturation cranked up to eleven.
