Stacked 4 nights of lunar data and the difference is absurd

I shot the moon last month with just a single 2 minute video on my 8 inch dob, and the surface detail was pretty muddy. Then I tried the same target over 3 more nights with a planetary cam, stacking maybe 5,000 frames total in Autostakkert. The terminator region went from blurry smudges to actual rille lines and tiny crater chains. It honestly felt like looking at a different object, the sharpness jump was that big. Has anyone else tried multi night stacking on the moon or planets and seen this huge of a change?

And what was your seeing like on those four nights, because I have a feeling that matters more than the total frame count sometimes. I stacked three nights on Jupiter once and got good results, but only when two of the nights had really steady air. If the conditions were all over the place, did you notice the stack favoring the best night or just averaging everything into one mushy image?
