Spent 4 months trying to stack astro photos with the wrong software

I kept seeing everyone rave about Sequator for stacking night sky shots, so I stuck with it for way too long. Turns out it was messing up my star alignment on every Milky Way photo from my trip to Death Valley last spring. Finally tried DeepSkyStacker and fixed 30 bad images in about 2 hours. Has anyone else found a stacking tool that just clicked after you switched?

honestly are 30 pictures even that big of a deal? seems like you could have just stacked them again with the right tool and moved on. i get that it sucks spending 4 months on something that didnt work but at the end of the day you still got the shots from death valley fixed right? like you spent 2 hours and now theyre fine. i dont see the need for all this drama about software not clicking. just pick one that works and stop overthinking it. most people act like this ruined their whole trip or something but you still got to go to death valley.

Oh man, I heard someone on a forum say Sequator works better for static landscapes than deep sky stuff. Glad you found the right tool, that must've been frustrating.
