Skeptical about phone astrophotography until I stacked 400 shots of Andromeda from my driveway in Boise
Everyone in this hobby says you need a $2,000 rig and dark skies to get anything worth sharing. I shot Andromeda last Saturday with a $300 DSLR and a kit lens from my driveway in Boise, stacked 400 x 2 second subs in free software, and got dust lanes you can actually see. The gatekeepers act like light pollution makes it impossible, but stacking and short exposures fixed most of it for me. What is the cheapest setup you have gotten a galaxy shot with that you were happy to post?

Totally feel you on the gatekeeper thing, it's crazy how people act like you need a second mortgage to shoot a galaxy. Your Andromeda shot sounds awesome and honestly the cheap setup wins just for proving them wrong.
