I was sure the Andromeda shots in this group were heavily edited until I tried stacking myself

I always figured those crisp galaxy photos people post here had to be mostly artificial color or some Photoshop trick. Finally borrowed a friend's Star Adventurer mount last month and tried stacking 120 frames of M31 from my backyard in Bortle 6 skies. The detail that came out of DeepSkyStacker honestly blew my mind. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize the equipment matters way more than you thought?

Wait, stacking 120 frames from Bortle 6 actually pulled out that much detail? That's wild... I figured you'd need dark sky sites and way more expensive gear for results like that. The difference between a single frame and a stacked image must be absolutely insane.

100 stacked frames is basically magic for noise reduction, the difference is night and day honestly.
