I spent $400 on a 'premium' star tracker that just collects dust now

I bought the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Pro pack thinking it would be the key to better deep sky shots, but the setup time and learning curve were huge. After three frustrating nights trying to get it polar aligned from my backyard in Portland, I just went back to my basic tripod and wide-angle lens. Has anyone else given up on a piece of gear that seemed essential but was more trouble than it was worth?

What if you just needed one clear night to get past the learning curve? My tracker was a pain at first too, but now I get shots I never could before, unlike @murphy.wyatt's fancy coffee maker.

Feel the same about my fancy espresso machine. Looked great on the counter, but I just want coffee, not a second job. It's now a very expensive crumb collector.
