I chose a 10 inch Dobsonian over a 6 inch reflector and never looked back
Tbh I was stuck between a portable scope and something that could actually show me Saturn's rings clearly. Picked the Dob and after 3 months of hauling it to my dark site every clear night, I've already spotted 12 Messier objects in just one trip out.

12 Messier objects in one night is solid work, which ones did you bag? I'm curious if you got M13 or M57 because those are usually the first ones people go for with a big Dob. But here's my real question: after hauling that 10 inch tube around for three months, how bad is your back really? I had an 8 inch Dob for two years and the thing wrecked me every time I carried it up the hill at my local spot. I switched to a 6 inch on a lightweight mount and honestly, I don't miss the extra aperture that much because I actually use it more now.

M13 through a 10 inch is barely different than an 8 inch, honestly.
