Hit 10 million miles on my truck... no wait that was the odometer rolling over

I was out taking some night sky shots last week near a quiet stretch of road, and I realized my camera's shutter count hit 100,000. Never thought I'd take that many photos. I've been doing astro stuff for maybe 3 years now, mostly messing around with my old DSLR. That number just snuck up on me. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone with their gear that made you stop and think?

wait, is hitting 100k on a camera shutter really something to be proud of though? most dslrs are rated for 150k to 200k actuations before the shutter starts to fail, so you're basically bragging about burning through half your camera's lifespan in 3 years. i feel like that's more of a "yikes" than a "cool milestone" moment. like congrats on wearing out your gear faster than someone who takes 10 photos a day. maybe think about how many of those 100k shots were actually keepers or if you just spam the burst mode every time you see a star.

especially since most mirrorless cameras don't even have a traditional shutter to wear out in the first place.
