Got told my star trails were "nervous looking" and it fixed my whole setup
Posted a 45 minute shot of the sky over my place near Tucson about 6 weeks ago and one comment just said the trails looked nervous near the edges. At first I figured it was a jerk move, but I zoomed in and yeah, every star had a little bend at the end from the tripod settling on the patio pavers. I started putting a 10 pound sandbag on the hook under the head and waiting a full 2 minutes after I bump the camera before starting the timer. Last night I stacked 120 frames and the trails come out clean and even all the way across. Anyone here weigh down their tripod some other way, or am I overdoing it with the sandbag?
