A guy at my local star party told me my stacked photo was 'cheating', and I still think he's wrong
I spent 4 hours over two nights in my backyard in Phoenix getting 180 subs of the Orion Nebula, and when I showed the final stack on my tablet he said real astronomy photos come from one shot. He was shooting film through a 1970s C8 and hadn't gotten a clean frame of M42 in weeks, so maybe that was part of it. Does stacking count as photography to you, or does it only feel real if it's a single frame?
