We almost lost a whole layer of pottery at the Miletus dig when a storm hit without warning.
I was in Turkey last spring, and we had to cover a 4-meter trench with tarps in under 10 minutes before the rain washed everything into a muddy mess, so has anyone else had to do a fast emergency cover-up like that?

We had a similar scramble at a community garden last month when a surprise hailstorm was forecast. It's funny how these sudden weather changes make you realize how much we rely on predictable systems, from archaeology to growing tomatoes. That frantic twenty minutes of throwing old bedsheets over the seedlings felt just as high-stakes.

Totally get that feeling. We had to grab every spare tarp and blanket when a freak frost hit our garden. That mad dash to save the plants felt like a real mission.
