Vent: Spent a whole day trying to find a specific trench edge at a site in Cornwall
We had the grid coordinates, but the feature was so subtle it blended right into the natural soil. It took me from 7 AM until almost sunset, just slowly scraping and brushing, to finally see the line. Has anyone else had a simple find turn into a marathon like that?

Honestly, is a subtle trench line worth that much stress? It sounds like you got way too focused on one small detail. Maybe the feature just wasn't that clear to begin with, and you spent hours chasing something minor. Sometimes you have to call it and move to a better spot instead of letting it ruin your whole day.

Watched my buddy Mike spend a whole Saturday digging on a faint color change. He was sure it was a hut site. Turned out to be an old property line from the 50s, just a buried wire and some rust. He missed three other clear signals twenty feet away because he got stuck on that one line. Lesson learned the hard way.
