That week in the field where we found 4 Roman coins in 3 days - best run I ever had

Back in 2019 I was on a dig near a farm in Yorkshire and we found nothing for the first 5 days. Then on Wednesday morning a volunteer pulled a bronze coin out of the dirt near an old ditch. By Friday we had four total, all from the 3rd century AD. The soil was wet and cold but nobody cared because every scrape felt like it could be something. Has anyone else had one of those lucky streaks where everything just lines up?

You say 'every scrape felt like it could be something' - that's the real magic right there. That feeling where you're totally locked in and the world fades away is rare, even for pros. Those four coins probably told you more about the site in three days than a month of nothing would have.

Haha yeah right? Like the universe just decided to throw you a bone after making you dig through cold mud for a week straight. Four coins in three days is basically a miracle considering most of my field time is just battery anxiety and finding old bottle caps.
