Flipped my opinion on ground penetrating radar after that field dig in Ohio
I used to think GPR was just for people with huge grant money and nothing better to spend it on. But last month I volunteered on a dig near Chillicothe and they ran a unit over what looked like empty field. Three hours later we had a clear outline of a pre-contact structure nobody knew was there. Has anyone else been convinced by a specific site or project to change their gear opinions?

Honestly, didn't it just confirm what a good shovel and a careful eye already show you?

Man I used to be right there with you. Thought GPR was just a toy for academics with too much budget. But that Chillicothe thing is exactly what flipped me. We had a crew that had walked that field twenty times and saw nothing. Three hours with the GPR and we had a PERFECT rectangular outline with a fire pit in the middle. A shovel would have taken us weeks of random test pits and we still would have missed it. That unit paid for itself in one afternoon just by showing us where to dig.
