Was super doubtful about tree growth regulators until I tried them on a big job
Had a client with a massive silver maple dropping limbs every storm, and I figured pruning was the only answer. My dad, who's been in the game 30 years, kept pushing me to use PGRs on it instead. I finally caved and applied it last spring, and honestly that tree is way calmer now, way less new growth to fight with. Has anyone else seen good results with growth regulators on problem trees, or was my dad just lucky?

Yeah but how fast did you see the results actually kicking in? I'm asking because I got a red oak I've been watching and the new shoots are still coming in pretty strong three months after application. Maybe I'm just impatient or maybe the dosage was off for that species. Did your maple show a real difference by midsummer or did it take a full season to settle down?
