Vent: That homeowner who watched me prune for 20 minutes straight
Had a job last Thursday in Decatur. Lady stood in her bathrobe sipping coffee. Watched every single cut I made on her red maple. Didn't say a word for 20 minutes. Then she goes "you missed a branch up top" and pointed at a tiny twig. Has anyone else had a client hover like that?

Dude, this is the worst. Had a guy in Smyrna follow me around with a folding chair once, just sat there watching me edge his lawn like it was a sport. Not a peep for almost an hour, then he goes "you're making too much noise" as if the lawnmower isn't supposed to make noise. Some people just can't let you do your thing without breathing down your neck. It's like they're waiting for you to mess up so they can feel smart about pointing it out. Drives me crazy.

I mean I get where you're coming from with the folding chair thing, that's pretty wild. But honestly I sorta see it from the guy's side too. If someone is paying you to do a job on their property, they probably just want to make sure it's done the way they like it. Maybe he's had bad experiences before with lawn guys who tore up his sprinklers or left a mess. I've had people watch me work before and yeah it's annoying, but at the end of the day it's their yard and their money.
