Tried a Silky saw vs a cheap hardware store saw for a big limb removal
I had to take down a 12 inch oak limb last week that was hanging over a garage. I used my usual $30 saw from the big box store and it took forever, the cut was ragged, and I kept fighting with binding. A buddy handed me his Silky Zubat and I finished the same cut in under 2 minutes with a clean face. Has anyone else noticed that big difference between cheap blades and a quality Japanese pull saw?

Honestly, the binding part is what kills me with cheap saws. Were you having trouble with the teeth getting gummed up on the cheap blade too, or was it just the cut being slow and crooked? I find the raker teeth on the Silky stuff make a huge difference in clearing dust on green wood. That Zubat is a beast for limbing, but I bet the grip on it helped you keep control too.
