TIL a trick for cutting big limbs safely in tight spaces

I was trimming a huge oak near the house in Portland last week and couldn't get my regular saw in there because of a fence. A buddy showed me how to use a rope and a pulley to control the drop from a distance. It saved me from having to climb or risk the limb smacking the siding. Anyone else use pulleys for tricky cuts like that?

Pulleys are a lifesaver for that kind of thing. Glad you found a way that worked without hurting your house or yourself, that sounds super stressful.

Respectfully @cora_jenkins, I've seen way too many pulleys snap under load so I'd rather just call a rigger.
