Spent $400 on a new Stihl climbing saw and it nearly got me killed last week

Been running a beat up old Husky for years. Finally splurged on a brand new MS 201 T. Thing cuts like a dream but the chain brake is way too touchy. I was limbing out a big oak and hit a small branch on the way up, brake engaged mid cut, almost lost my balance at 40 feet. Anyone else have issues with newer saw brakes being too sensitive?

Hate to be that guy, but you sure it's the brake and not just the chain tension being off? New saws can be finicky, sometimes that "brake grab" is actually the chain slapping if it's a little loose.

On my MS261, I had that exact problem until I realized the bar oil was too thick for the cold weather. Switched to winter weight oil and the grabby feeling disappeared.
